End of Year Reflections - How Far We've Come Together

A year ago, my life came to a full stop.
A catastrophic burnout, triggered by a collision of work, menopause, neurodiversity, caring responsibilities, and unresolved grief, forced me to listen in a way I never had before.
What I’ve learned since is simple, but profound:
the opposite of loneliness and burnout isn’t rest alone, it’s connection and community.
Seven months ago, I left the country to spend six weeks with loved ones, big African skies, the ocean, long walks, writing, and remembering who I am beneath the roles.
Six months ago, I began tentatively seeing clients again, and building a purpose-driven offering fuelled by lived experience: Surface Deep.
Almost five months ago, a walk along a riverbank with an old school friend turned into a shared realisation, and a partnership.
Four months ago, we launched our sustainable leadership model: TREE (Trust, Resilience, Empathy, and Equity).
A month ago, we delivered our first masterclass series.
The last few months have been a whirlwind of learning, creating, and doing our best to walk our talk - building a safe, supportive way of working (which is far from easy).
What changed everything?
Not doing it alone.
Having someone to think with, create with, deliver with.
And watching a community grow around us, old colleagues, clients, friends, supporters, and new partners.
Together, we’re shaping a kinder, more human world of work.
The connection, generosity, and shared vision have been incredible.
This year has been quite a ride.
Looking ahead to 2026, and who it will be shaped with.
More depth.
More connection.
More creating together.
